Description
A beautiful misty morning around the fen ‘Pikmeeuwenwater’ at estate Landgoed de Hamert, part of National Park De Maasduinen’ (Wellerlooi, Noord-Limburg, Netherlands). The ingredients for a misty morning were perfect: clear sky, cold summer morning and no wind. But when I woke up there was no mist. My goal was a visit to the heatherland of Landgoed de Hamert, a drive of 20 minutes by car. So I hope I would see some mist at the other side of the river Maas. While driving there was just a touch fo mist above some agricultural fields. At the parking of De Hamert .... still no mist so my hope was gone. After a walk of 15-20 minutes through the forest I saw some mist above the heather. So I decided to not take the easy route through the heather but to follow the trail over a dune to get a higher view over the beautiful landscape with fens. Although I was not looking forward to follow the sand path up the dune - especially not in the early hours with a backpack full of gear - it was defenitly worth it. Finally I saw the mist I hoped for :)
