National Park De Maasduinen consists of different nature reserves which are managed by foundation Limburgs Landschap, the municipality of Bergen, the Forestry Service and private individuals who all work closely together to keep this unique area in top condition. Bergerheide close to the village Nieuw-Bergen is one of these nature reserves which has a varied landscape with riverdunes, small and big fens, heathland, forests, agriculture land and the beautiful lake Reindersmeer.

As you can see at this website I love to visit a forest from time to time but the autumn week(end)s are my favorites! After the summer months it is waiting for the first leaves to change color. And then its up to me to visit the forest at the right time before all the leaves are on the ground.
