Passion for Photography and Nature
As you know by now I am William Mevissen and I focus on landscape and nature photography. I live in the south of the Netherlands in the northern part of the province of Limburg close to some beautiful nature reserves in and around National Park De Maasduinen.
In the summer of 2014 I bought my first DSLR camera. After experimenting for several weeks and a quick online course about the exposure triangle I first visited lake Reindersmeer (part of the National Park De Maasduinen) in Well early September 2014. Badly prepared - totally ignored the weather forecast - my visit was short but powerful. In just 15 minutes I enjoyed the beautiful view and the quickly captured photos sparked my photographic enthousiasm. A few days later I was back at lake Reindersmeer - certainly not for the last time - and since then I have been infected with the 'landscape-and-nature-photography' virus.
The weekends are not like they used to be; sleeping late is over. In the middle of the night - especially in summer - about 1 to 2 hours before sunrise my alarm goes off and I jump out of bed to see if the weather forecast was right and inspect the sky at the front and back of the house. About 30 minutes later I leave and drive about 20-25 minutes to a dark parking space at the edge of an even darker nature reserve. I always try to be on time - approximately 30 minutes before sunrise - at the desired location in the nature reserve. After that I enjoy 'my own' nature and what is still to come (or sometimes not). The results of my passion can be found on this website :)
